Sarah McBride Makes History As She Emerges First Woman To Become A Senator In The USSarah McBride has won a seat in Delaware state senate, making history by becoming the first openly transgender state senator in the United state.

Sarah, 30 will also be the nation highest ranking openly transgender elected officially.

She defeated her republican opponent, Steven Washington, 73% to 27% with all reports.

Sarah tweeted after her win on Tuesday night “I hope tonight shows an LGBTQ kid that our democracy is big enough for them.
